I bought this because my property has a big slope. I installed it on my Werner 16ft aluminum extension ladder and then bought some additional bases and installed them on my Werner 32ft aluminum extension ladder. It is a thoughtful design and well made. The leveling block is actually heavy, so I like that you can remove it when not in use. I expect due to the incline in my yard I will need the full range of adjustment this unit can offer. As it comes out of the box had I set the bases as advertised I would have lost about 2 inches of available adjustment so I'm only giving it four stars. Each base has three mounting holes that go on either side. The installation instructions suggest placing the sockets so that two holes are over the bottom rung of your ladder and the other hole is under the bottom rung. I can't do this with any of my ladders because the aligner "leg" installed under my ladder's "leg" needs to be flush with or higher. When I raise the bases so all three mounting holes are off the ground rung of my ladder, I lose or lose about 2 inches of available aligner adjustment as this places the aligner's "leg" about 2 inches above the "leg" of my ladder. If more than 3 mounting holes were available in the bases, it would be possible to select which three to use, allowing for more mounting options. Unless they just need the full range of ads, this will never be a problem for them. I like the devices very much and I can recommend them. I particularly like that they are well made and easy to use. My wife has no problem using them even on a small flight of stairs.
