Review on πŸŒ€ BLACK+DECKER BCF5252 Ceiling Fan: Sleek Silver Design & Optimal Performance by Kevin Taharka

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Slight wobble, quality could be better but looks good

Unpacking, setting up and assembling is as you would expect if you've done it before. We have several ceiling fans that we installed in our home and it wasn't much different. Apart from 4 wings while most have 5. The BCF5252 is a 52 inch ceiling fan with pull cords for lights and fans. Turn on/off the light. And 3 fan speeds. As you get closer you can see a certain cheapness in the material of the blades and materials in general. This isn't a bad thing and not that much for something that's never normally checked up close, but it's worth noting. should be included in this price. This means that installation is at least easier. Uses standard wires and colors that everyone else uses. At worst, the instructions are simple enough to follow when needed. After installation we provided our own two LED bulbs. The case has a good light output throughout the room. The tension on the cord makes the fan wobble due to the amount of effort it takes to turn it on. It's not the most elegant mechanism. But again, it gets the job done. The biggest problem will be a slight wobble at high speed. This isn't a bad thing, but you can clearly see that the metal chassis itself is slightly unbalanced. These are not blades or other items that could be affected by a custom build or install. Going down to low or medium seems slow enough that you don't really notice much. It's an extractor fan, but for the money I expected more. Better quality, more features, more sophistication, etc. Maybe if we try enough fans we'll find one that doesn't wobble. But honestly, I don't want to deal with that at all. And I didn't have to. Overall, my wife likes it in the room we installed it in, her office. Looks beautiful, circulates air, runs as quietly as any other modern ceiling fan. This is average value for money. Of course, lowering the price would help sway potential buyers.

Pros
  • Finally bought it
Cons
  • Makes me nervous
