American Standard has developed a toilet part that anyone can replace in minutes. No need to call/hire a plumber, it's a quick fix. My toilet sometimes sounded like water was running down the toilet without flushing. It happened infrequently and only lasted a second or two. I've been told that in some cases the damper/flush valve gets old and loses its shape causing water to run/leak into the toilet. Of course I felt the valve and found that it had lost its shape and was in terrible shape. I found this item to fit my toilet/damper and simply snaps into place after the old one is removed. I just turned off the water, drained the tank and changed the disc in a minute. I didn't even have to remove the shock (as instructed in the instructions). Save money on plumbing! Finally something anyone can do while spending a fortune.
