TL; DR - When in doubt, don't hesitate. Product and team convince. Try it. After a week of pause in service, the airport Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card on my mid-2010 MacBook Pro finally died, as did the ethernet port, leaving me without an internet connection. Spent $20 on a new airport card but still got a "hardware not installed" message. Decided to give it a try and in less than 5 minutes I was back online (green icon on the left). I am writing this from the same Macbook that has been basically a doorstop for 9 years. The speed tests are also comparable to those of my Apple card. UPDATE: The next day, my work connection was dismal compared to home: 1 Mbps versus 51 Mbps. But chat support guy Chris spent about an hour testing a few things and fixing the issue. Now I'm getting 26 Mbps on the shared network. Really impressed.
