The quality of the packaging and unboxing experience is superlative. One of the interior boxes has both a circular die-cut and foil stamp. My inner designer is happy! The camera itself is a perfect cube (Apple made a cube computer, too), that you can get in different colors—I got the Navy blue to match my car's exterior and interior color scheme.Once the E1 is hardwired (I have it plugged into a cigarette outlet via the enclosed plug), you can pretty much set-it-and-forget-it. It Turns on automatically when you start driving and goes into parking mode where you have stopped for a few minutes. I have parking mode set to take short clips if the car is bumped, but you can also set it to detect motion. The phone app works well, allowing you to set the preferences and download videos and photos without having to even touch the camera or SD card. Videos can be downloaded directly to your phone. The voice commands work well, too, and are very straightforward.The video looks great, one person said it looked like "a film". The 2k resolution seems plenty for taking moving footage and capturing license plates. Within an hour of installing the E1, I was almost side-swiped by another car passing me on a double-yellow! It captured his plate and all details of the event so I would have video evidence in case he did hit me (I have learned the hard way that people will lie profusely if they hit you!). I took footage at night, in the rain and it looks great as well, so no complaints in that area.My only beef is that the supplied stickers are overly large and scream "PROTECTED BY VANTRUE DASH CAMS". Wish they were better designed and more subtle.
