This hamburger press is very easy to use. However, either the threaded hole in the top is not perpendicular to the centerline of the press outer casing, or the shaft on the movable platen in the top is not perpendicular to the platen itself. Therefore, the platen is not parallel to the base. Then the thickness of the hamburger patty is not constant depending on the thickness setting. This non-perpendicular condition results in a large gap between the platen and the outer casing on one side, allowing the ground beef to enter the upper casing unless a sheet of paper is used.
