This is a crude version of the 1870's Bradbury A1 Repairer. Many parts look hand made, poorly fitted and poorly finished, many metal parts rubbing against each other. The machine really works and for the price you can't beat it. I completely disassembled mine, cleaned it of transport dirt and oil and lubricated it properly (I recommend it). Some familiarity with sewing machines as well as some mechanical skills are best for those considering this machine. I wasn't expecting it to be an industrial quality machine for mass production, rather I was hoping it would be enough to intermittently sew two or three layers of medium to heavy leather. The test samples I've tried so far have been satisfactory, so they seem to have met my expectations. The winding spool is useless, I'll wind mine up with a drill. I replaced some of the adjustment nuts and screws with knobs to make it easier to adjust stitch length and upper thread tension.
