Review on Classic Leather White Spira Men's Shoes by Jesse Blair

Revainrating 1 out of 5

My brother knew I liked Spira shoes so he wanted to buy them for me.

First let me say that this isn't the first pair of heels I've owned. I had 2 Wavewalkerdx3 models and bought a pair for my girlfriend. I've never had a problem with any of these pairs of shoes, nor with a few of my girlfriends. Heck, I still have the first pair of my current lawn mower boots. But enough of that, let's talk about my current pair of Spira shoes, classic men's leather shoes. My brother knew I liked Spira shoes so he wanted to buy me a pair as a gift. At the time they didn't have dx3 wavewalker shoes so I decided to try leather shoes. (I bought mine from the Spiras website) I was hoping the extra ankle support would help. I put the shoes on and they fit well. After they broke at work after a few weeks, they started to feel better. I average 8,000 to 10,000 steps a day at work, just to give you an idea of the daily use of my shoes. About a month later, in the right shoe, he started freaking out under the heel. Over time I felt something rattling in my heel. I took off my shoe and shook it. Found that the spring inside the pad was weakened. I called Spira support and got an answering machine. He left a detailed message about my problem and contact details. A week goes by and they haven't contacted me. During this week the shoes went bad. The front spring would rattle and sometimes the boot would make a loud clicking noise as I walked. I called Spira support again and got an answering machine again. Did the same as before, left a detailed message with the new issue and my contact details. Over time I had to give up shoes completely. The right boot detaches at the back of the boot where the upper is bonded to the sole. You can open the trunk and see the spring in the trunk. This happened about 2 weeks after I last tried to contact them. At this point, the left boot begins to experience the same problem as the right boot. The springs in the trunk began to rattle and click loudly. The loud dose click does not always occur. Most of the time I was able to stop it by shaking the boot, I suspect this was because the spring came loose and it made a noise when I put pressure on the boot while walking. Not trusting the customer service number, I tried contacting them through their customer service email. I wasn't shocked, it's been about 3 weeks and they still haven't contacted me. I don't know if it's just a pair I received or if the build quality has gone down badly. But when you pay $140 for a pair of shoes, expect to get more after 2 months of use. I tried to leave this review on their website but when I click on the reviews I have no option to do so. Here I leave my review. I hope I just had a bad pair because I liked the Spira shoes. Like I said, I've had 2 pairs so far. We still have both pairs. Had her for years. But if that's the future of Spira shoes, maybe they'll kick me out. Customer service is non-existent and shoes falling apart forced me to abandon this brand. Hope this helps someone.

Pros
  • 3rd pair. There is no better one on the market. No additional purchase.
Cons
  • The leather material can cause sweaty feet and an unpleasant smell.
