They are great for filtering dirt from our well. It is used in the first filter, which then goes through another filter that we equipped with a Pentek EPM 10 carbon filter. The water has never been clearer and tastier! The R30 filter (for us) needs to be changed about every 2-3 months depending on usage. Although it is written that it can be washed, it often smells bad when we change it, so it's better to just put a new filter.
