I thought this pump was a real WINNER until a week later when it rusted and stopped working.

In my opinion that's all I think - Retrieved May 26, 2021. I put this in my pool on Memorial Day, May 31st. Less than a week later and it's "stainless steel pump completely rusted and stopped working on June 4th. What was originally plated looks like stainless steel to my mind, but looks like corroded copper. I used it vertically in my pool to pump water to the solar panels on the roof. It worked fine for the first few days, then it lost its nice stainless steel finish and looked like corroded copper, but continued to work. Now all the water intakes are off corroded and therefore covered with rust. It worked yesterday, not today. In such a short time this corrosion resistant pump has failed and stopped working. It's still drawing power from my solar panel but isn't pumping water or even oscillating like it did when it was working. My pool's pH is 6.8, which is almost neutral and slightly acidic. When we swim, it doesn't hurt the eyes. How could this be caused? So much damage in so little time when it has to be stainless steel? I bought it because it was advertised as corrosion resistant and I already had a solar panel to power it. I figured it would last for years and save on my electric bills. "Good price" was just too much for just one week of service. And I thought the ad was wrong when it said "stainless steel". I've already seen how stainless steel prevents corrosion, but that's not the quality I believed in. Now the corrosion from it has stained the inside of my pool. What are the next steps to solve this problem I wonder. Sometimes a good deal has to be given up for a better price.
