Maintains a constant room temperature

My apartment has baseboard heaters next to the windows with a thermostat in the center of the unit. As a result, the room temperature got very cold before the heaters turned on, but then got too hot before they turned off. Well I had this heater near my drafty front door next to my desk for a week and the room temperature didn't fluctuate. clear. In fact, my entire apartment (about 600 square feet) heats up on its own, including the kitchen around the corner, which always has a window slightly ajar.
