Review on Ikea 501 531 80 Chosigt Grater Container by Alicia Lynch

I've always wanted a cheese grater with a lid and finally settled on one after accidentally ruining my old box grater while grating for a craft. I got this and immediately realized that no matter how clean your kitchen countertop is, the damn thing slides across it when you use it, so you have to hold onto it at all times. Unfortunately I have neck pain and this caused me terrible neck pain trying to stop the grater from sliding across the counter. So I hated using it from the start but to make matters worse the lid doesn't fit at all and falls into the container leaving an air space so your cheese will dry out and spoil faster. No matter how much I fiddle with the lid, it doesn't hold up well and obviously needs improvement in construction. I've used the grater twice and now I have to give it away because I've used it and now I can't return it. I have ordered another grater which works great without much fuss to keep it in one place during use. I just put the extra cheese in a ziplock bag like I've done all these years and threw away the lovely lidded cheese container. Save some money and order an older grater but with a silicone rim around the base to keep it in place. They work so well I think the old design is better in this case.
