Thinking about green smoothies? That's the deal; I put cucumbers, carrots, celery, apples, leafy greens, peaches, and mangoes in a large carafe and it all turned into a very gritty slurry. It wasn't smooth at all. I poured this sediment (enough for 2 servings) into two decanters for a single serving, installed the blades and used the vitamin eject button, and WOW, big difference. It was smooth. Here it is. If you only want to make green smoothies (like me), just two smaller decanters with their own set of knives will suffice. A large decanter with detachable, non-traditional blades just might not make a smooth smoothie. I hope it helps! Update: I found out that I can buy replacement blades made specifically for small portion cups and that 1100w is pretty significant compared to other 250w smoothie makers. The motor tends to stall or slow down after I've finished making two smoothies, but I bought it used so I have 90 days to damage it or be unhappy with a refund XD.
