Review on Pearington Plastic Classroom Stools for Kids, Multipurpose Stool Chairs, Flexible Seating, Stackable Stools, Stainless Steel Legs - Set of 5, Multiple Colors by Jarrett Young

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not for use by larger children- younger only!

Update: I contacted the manufacturer who responded promptly offering to replace the stools with the sturdier version. Good customer service is a plus!Original I bought this stool multi-pack for use in my 5th grade classroom with the idea that they would last at least throughout the school year if not for longer. I paid 53.42$ for 5 stools, which is a sizeable percentage of my teachers budget. It is now 6 months later and 4 out of 5 stools are broken with the 5th stool showing heavy wear. Also in my classroom are similar stools from another brand that are going on year 4 of daily use by 1st-5th graders. It is NOT unrealistic for me to expect that this brand of stool would last at least one year. The chairs always break in the same place. The bend in the legs starts creasing and sometimes the metal cracks. Eventually the whole leg of the chair breaks off. This doesn't happen with the other brand chair that is the same size & looks exactly the same. I would NOT recommend this chair for use by larger children (4th grade & up) at all because they arent sturdy enough for the weight. Also, once the metal cracks there are rough jagged edges that a child could cut themselves on.
