Review on 🪞 Ekena Millwork RWL12X026UNP Pine Louvered Shutters (Per Pair), Real Wood Exterior, 12" x 26", Unfinished by Romas Pennington

Overall construction is great. They came in the right size, same color etc. I ordered black. The problem was the rain. I added copper caps to all of the blinds as anyone experienced with actual shutters would recommend. After reading the reviews of foam paint after rain, I completely repainted each shutter with exterior latex paint in advance to ensure good coverage and protection from water seeping into the wood. After the first light rain and possible summer heat (Cleveland), the trees expanded and parted slightly at the nodes of the main structure. Also, some parts of the blinds have shifted. So I touched up, and by touch-ups I mean I tried to cover up the exposed areas of the wood and drip paint between the open joints to fill in any gaps that would allow the water to settle. I've done this twice already. I understand some maintenance may be needed as it was cheaper than going to Timberlane Shutters who wanted 15k for 7 pairs. I chose them based on over 6000 hardware and copper caps. Overall they look great and hopefully won't need any additional maintenance in the near future. I'm already reckoning on having to sand and repaint in 5 years (from other reviews). I'm not one to write reviews but I have to give credit to anyone attempting this type of project as there is nothing out there for true blinds.
