This stand is fine. That's the best way to describe it. My husband and I are only staying in our current apartment temporarily before we move into our house. We needed a shoe rack due to the layout of the storage and closets and it works for what we need it for. I will definitely buy a better one in the future but it's good for the job. It's durable in the sense that it's not flimsy. The worst is to combine. It should be fairly easy once you get started, but be patient to make sure you separate all the parts properly - the connectors are the most important. Nor are they separate entities. You can have two or three columns, but you can't have two columns in one place and a third column in another place.
