This is not a microscope. The description is wrong, it's more of a digital magnifying glass. Your phone camera will most likely have the same magnification if not better, the only advantage it has over your phone is the stand, not because it's the best but because it's better than trying to hold the camera still. I like it, but it's not a microscope. This was the second purchase I bought but it was returned because the LED light on the stand didn't work, it was a gift for my nephew. . I gave him the first one I bought for myself to use when I first started cultivating copepods but it didn't have the increase it claimed. It can't be that he had a 1200x magnification. On Actiaul 25x you can clearly see the 25 micron copepod, so it looks like a dot. Just for reference, there is no difference between digital zoom and optical zoom other than how it is processed. 10x is 10x in this universe.
