Review on ๐Ÿ”Š Enhancing Audio Quality: Introducing IFi Desktop Digital Converter Outputs by Pop Henneghan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Amazing DAC/amp combo for the price.

This is a fairly unusual DAC/amplifier at this price point. TL; For me, DR is superior to many competitors in the same price range in terms of sound quality. However, this is not for everyone. Gamers will regret the lack of microphone support on other DACs/amplifiers. That's understandable, and there are other products that might suit your needs a little better (OR buy a separate microphone, plug it directly into your motherboard, and use that device to control your headphones). for me it's Philips Fidelio X2HR and Sennheiser 6xx. iFi effortlessly manages these two headphones. I compared the iFi Zen v2 DAC/amp with my Schiit Hel DAC/amp (this device supports a gamer microphone) and the FiiO e10k DAC/amp to see which one fits. emerge as the winner in terms of pure sound quality. The Shiite Hel costs around $200 and the FiiO can be purchased for around $70 to $80, putting the iFi right in between. I didn't have any of the issues noted in other Revain reviews, notably mentioning that one earbud was noticeably louder than the other. In my subjective opinion, iFi is superior to these two devices in terms of sound. The True Bass button is pure bliss. Low frequencies are much cleaner and more pronounced compared to the other two devices I've compared the iFi to. FiiO has the equivalent of iFi's "True Bass" button, but I miss bass at low frequencies on this device. The Schiit Hel does not have a bass function/switch like the FiiO and iFi, so I think this device is a bit lacking in bass. Some might find the included USB power cable too much to want your iFi a little further than, say, 6-8 inches from your desktop tower, out of luck. Replacement cords are available from Revain, but the length of the power cord didn't bother me. And while the iFi comes with a "Balanced" option for connecting headphones, it doesn't come with an adapter, so you may need to purchase that adapter separately if you want to connect your headphones to the balanced option. In summary, I have no hesitation in recommending this to people who have some decent headphones and are looking for an upgrade over the onboard motherboard DAC. The sound quality is amazing for the price and from an aesthetic point of view it adds something to my desktop. The downsides are additional items that you may need to purchase, e.g. B. a balanced headphone adapter or a longer power cord for those who want to place their iFi a little further from their desk.

Pros
  • โœ… NOTE โœ… - Due to the use of the analog volume control, there may be a slight channel imbalance below 9 o'clock on the volume bar. This is not a product defect. We recommend listening to music between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm for the best sound quality.
