I have 2 computers that I use daily connected to my monitor: a MacBook Pro (via HDMI) and a PC with a GTX-1080 (via DP). The main reason for going from 2560x1440 to 3440x1440 was the extra real estate on my MacBook desktop, and as a bonus, I was curious how it would work with PC gaming. The first problem is that the HDMI adapter on my MacBook cannot display 3440x1440. It's annoying, but it's not the monitor. However, the monitor does not automatically adjust the aspect ratio/resolution based on the input signal. So I have to manually set it to 2560 x 1440 when connected to a MacBook. Then when I switch to PC I have to manually reset it to 3440x1440. It wouldn't be so bad if you only had to do it once, but the settings aren't per input source, they're global. EVERY TIME you switch to a new input, you must manually reset your monitor via the OSD. This is a serious deficiency. Not all input sources need to have the same settings. The OSD controls are hidden buttons on the back of the panel, so you need to use "Back = Index finger, Enter = Middle finger, Down/Right = Ring finger, Up". /Left=Pinky". Luckily, the directions are marked on screen so you can see them in the dark, but the number of different key presses required to change the aspect ratio is insane: index-index-index every time i switch to my pc and then index-middle-ring-ring-middle-ring-ring-middle-index-index-index to switch back to mac sub-menu or accidentally turn it off and then start from the front. These are the limitations we expected from technology in the 1990s... but that was 30 years ago. Surely they can do better. I'm really tempted to return it but I have to my old monitor for family reasons and I just don't have the time.
