Review on 📷 CAMVATE Universal Adjustable Camera Cage Fit for Both Right and Left Handle Cameras (Includes Left Handle Grip) by James Nedumaran

This thing is like adult Lego. You can play with it for hours, especially if you have extra hardware and want to customize it. The quality of the cage is really good and all parts are well made and fit together well. Keep in mind that once your camera is in place, it is not easy to remove as it is held in place by the base plate and hot shoe. To get it out you have to unscrew both and also unscrew the screws on the left vertical part to slide the top up and pull out the camera. This is good because the camera is very secure, but you can't easily switch between camera/video and non-cage/photo. I wasn't entirely aware of this when I bought it, but after playing around with it in different configurations for a while I realized that I really just needed the "L" so I removed the top and installed a Manfrotto quick release plate. Now I can use the left post to hold my mini gun mic, I can mount my Blackmagic Video Assist on the camera, I still have the left grip and I can fold and unfold my camera in seconds. I realize this defeats some of the purposes of this cage, but love how I was able to customize it to suit my needs. I can also try putting the top on but raising it so I don't use the hot shoe mount. Just take a look. Like I said, this thing is fun to play with. Overall a great product and a good compact and adjustable cage.
