A bug that needs fixing

I used moveable lights like in a closet as they used D size batteries and an old flashlight bulb. I keep finding uses for them, and as they get more creative in the way they're made, I'm happy to swap out old ones for smarter ones. I've often been impressed by feature improvements that take a huge leap forward, such as one of the latest innovations being rechargeable. What a brilliant idea, pardon the pun. One of the biggest downsides to these things is the need to replace the batteries, which in some cases have been sitting there so long they start leaking. That plus the fact that they're magnetic so the bass doesn't have to be permanently attached makes these things so much better. And now even the simplest have other new tricks, like the ability to toggle the color temperature from warm to cool to pure white, and the ability to adjust the brightness from dim to blindingly bright. It's not huge at all, it takes all of the good stuff I mentioned above and shrinks it down to something that can be placed where there's never been moving light without sacrificing brightness. This little thing is almost too bright for most base cabinets and the like, but could be perfect above an amateur's desktop. DEFECTIVE Unfortunately, it's not perfect, it has a flaw that they really need to fix. It's magnetized so it will stick to any steel surface without the need for a mounting base. That's good, but it only uses a small magnet on one end and a non-removable battery on the other end. The weight of the battery counteracts the force of the magnet, causing the entire battery to fall off the included metal clip as well as many other metal surfaces. I wanted to build this into the cabinet where my pans are kept. I wanted to install it on the bottom of the drawer that sits just above this space. Since it would fall off the included mounting clip with the slightest movement, I resorted to Velcro to ensure a secure hold. Because of this, this product cannot earn five points, which should only be reserved for being the best of the best with no flaws. But if you find a good mounting option, otherwise it's a really good light, I like it and therefore deserves a decent four stars.
