Works like an AUX cable, but each end needs to be pulled evenly, so it's not easy to adjust the length on the fly. I assumed I could stretch each end to the correct length, but I can't. Both ends must be the same length as you can damage the mechanism by only pulling on one end and the wire on the spool will come loose if you only pull on one end. When rewinding, the mechanism can be jerky, and at times I've spent more time than I should have gently tugged the wires in each direction to try to get the mechanism to hook the wires and rewind.
