I chose the Warm Dawn miniature set for my first miniature creation after I got an idea from a video of someone assembling a dollhouse kit. I liked that this kit was small as I wasn't sure I could make it. I also like that the final product doesn't take up much space and can even be hung on the wall (where no one will walk past to bump into it). After reading other reviews I bought the following consumables: Beacon 3-in-1 Advanced Craft Adhesive, Aleene Genuine Tacky Glue, Precision Tweezers, Precision Craft Knife, Precision Scissors and Cutting/Pasteting Stand. Basically I used the Beacon. 3-in-1 glue because it hardens and dries fairly quickly. I used sticky wallpaper glue, diluted a little with water and painted. I think I also used an inexpensive brush, cup of Dixie, paper towels, and toothpicks. Beacon glue tended to leave a streak of glue from the item on the bottle, which I caught with a toothpick and wiped off with a paper towel. Glue was cheaper to buy at a craft store (and they always have a coupon) than online. I also relied heavily on my precision scissors to cut out all the small pieces of paper. I made some changes to personalize it and improve two things I didn't like. The first thing I didn't like was the wires between the top of the "Wall Light" element and the ceiling, so I poked/"drilled" a small hole in the back with my utility knife. Before proceeding I made sure the 2 LED wires and the wire that will be bent and twisted fit in the hole (see photo). I then ran the LED wires through the bottom of the light instead of the top. I colored the white electrical wires with black permanent marker and wrapped them around the twisted wires used to attach the lantern to the wall. Then when I fixed it to the wall I fed the electrical wires through the hole I made and taped the base of the lamp over the hole. The second thing I didn't like was the basket with 2 plates. Instead, I made a loaf of bread by rolling up a strip of "beige interlining" (felt) left over from the "fabric" item. I wrapped this roll in one of the cloths of the product "Tablecloth" and glued it in the basket. The only negative was that I was missing 1 piece of the blue cabinet, but it was easy to email the address provided in the kit to have this fixed. I had to wait 28 days for it to arrive but I still had plenty of time before Christmas so it didn't bother me. The instructions had color pictures and clearly labeled part numbers that were easy to follow. Working on this set gave me the confidence to make my own miniature room box from scratch. Working from the ground up on my project, I really appreciated that the Flever kit has all the materials included and well thought out assembly methods. I think a kit is a cheaper way to buy materials as you often only need a single bead or small piece of fabric, but you are forced to buy more. In general, I really enjoyed putting this set together and was very happy with the end result. I can't wait to gift it.
