Review on Ultimate Sharpening Solution: Resistant Whetstone Flattening Sharpeners by Mike Walters

I'm a carpenter so I know my sandpaper. One of the stones should be 400 grit on one side and 1000 on the other. In fact, with this kit, the 400 grit is absolutely smoother than the 1000 grit. It's actually like a 3000 grit. So this set doesn't have a rough stone for the first pass on blades with chips or grooves, which is a real problem. Trying to repair blade damage on a 1000 grit stone takes 20 minutes and doesn't get very good results as the metal shavings penetrate the stone and you have to flush the stone every few minutes. You can zoom in on the photo and see that 400 and 3000 have the same roughness. This product is useless for me.
