This router has worked fine for 10 months. The connection is then continuously interrupted every five minutes. No matter what I did - buffering, flushing, etc. - nothing fixed this router that was shutting down frustratingly every five minutes. Fix my router! At first they tried to sell me a two year contract for almost $200 until I asked if there was a one year contract. Since then I've checked out the site and they have a six month contract for only $80 which of course I was never offered. They say that this web support is for one year for all my devices regardless of platform and issue but all I needed was my router. After two hours of phone calls with someone from abroad, my router was finally fixed. However, in doing so, they completely removed my Firefox extensions, background, and add-ons. I've been developing this Firefox platform for years to have the support team remove it in just 3 seconds. While he apologized and extended my one-year contract by two months (wow!), I spent days resetting my Firefox browser. It will never be the way it was before he removed it. I bought an external hard drive to connect to this router via USB. It wasn't until I bought this drive that support told me that some drives work best. Why don't they tell you that before you buy this router? The cost and hassle of repairing this router after it stops working is not worth the price of this router. It might be a decent router, but the support beyond the 90 day warranty is a rip off. Look for a router with better support. I feel left out and disgusted with NETGEAR.
