The material is very comfortable, very soft on the outside and even softer and more comfortable on the inside. But they run VERY long. My daughter is 4.5 years old and average height so I originally bought a size 5. She was ridiculously long, like she had an extra 4-5 inches hanging under her feet. So I changed them to a size 4 and they were still a few inches over their feet. If we were smaller, the waist would be too small. Too bad otherwise they seem very comfortable and warm but we had to send them back.
