I recently found an inexpensive kayak, and so i splurged on this paddle. The pole is a durable composite, so i bet this will outlast my kayak :-). I like this material for just the right minimal flexibility and the light weight, about 3 pounds. The shape of the paddle works for me for power strokes, and there is a cutout in one blade that is useful for desnagging fishing line. That, and the drip-barriers are clever, and are found on many paddles. I also like that this can be taken apart in two pieces for easier transport.
