I bought the white shorts in size L and they are perfect except they are too big for me. I'm 5'6" tall, 29" waist and 40/41" across most of my buttocks/thighs - I have a muscular build. I have to return the large ones for a medium size because I want them to be like fit in the picture although i could wear them in a larger size and a looser fit and they are still flattering but i want them to fit my hips they are really high waisted and just like the picture very cute and not too short so glad i found them and shipping was fast as always with prime would definitely recommend but if you are my size and want them to fit like the picture choose Definitely a medium size.The material is polyester but it looks and feels like cotton.Not too thick and not thin and they move with you,I love this material.Hope this helps someone,and thanks to the seller Update 08/14/2019: On En en I bought both the medium sized white and black crochet shorts and they fit perfectly and I wore them this summer. or I wore them as cute casual shorts and wore boy shorts underneath so they wouldn't show through. so cute and everyone asks where i got them. They've also survived my washer and dryer without much shrinkage or signs of wear. I have bleach washed the white shorts and they are fine. Definitely one of my best purchases this summer!
