We used to have baby gates that just attached to the wall with rubber clasps and my 9 month old son kept tipping them over. Even the dogs started knocking it over. We also chose sliding gates for practical reasons, not to damage our wall and not to hurt the child. This goal is literally such a blessing. The mesh material is soft and the kid doesn't try to play with it, but it's enough for him to see us and everything is fine. On the plus side are the various locking mechanisms which allow the gate to stretch or stay cocked and locked so my older child can't fiddle with it as easily. Such great convenience! And I love the rose gold/champagne color. This is the modern era of baby gates!
