Worth the money - basic but durable

I was wondering if it wouldn't be better to spend my $25 on wood and make something like this myself, but after getting it and using it, am I very happy with it. I immediately used it to carve strips of maple inlay, which it did quite well. Yes, I could make my own out of wood or use a jack block, but the measuring lines are very helpful for fine-tuning the size. My only wish would be to be able to fine tune the screw, but it really is a pleasure to use as is. Very durable and we will make it. In addition to cutting the strips on a table saw, I used them on a bandsaw to keep the piece off the blade when I cut off the excess insert (see image). Could I make something similar out of wood myself? Absolutely, but not in this price range. Highly recommended.
