Review on 🥤 Contigo Auto Close Shake and Go Tumbler, 20 Ounce, Clear Monaco by Johnny Black

Great mug but poor durability But they didn't last very long. The first cup lid broke at the end of December, the second this week. Both covers broke together after about 2 months. As far as I can see, the hinge that holds the spring-loaded locking cap to the lid (I hope I'm describing this clearly) is very delicate. There is no problem if the lid is held with a straw. Tidying up is a completely different matter. This cover needs to be shifted a bit to make sure all the dirty stuff comes out from underneath. I don't want old coffee grounds getting mixed up with your juice or anything. You have to be very careful cleaning underneath because (from what I can see) holding it open like this puts a lot of stress on that hinge. I have to say I have several Contigo cups/mugs and this lid is the easiest to clean. But this lightness is accompanied by fragility. I will email Contigo with these photos for new lids, but I doubt I will buy this mug again. Advantages: • Large cup. Drinks stay cold/hot for a long time • When the lid is in use, the seal is perfect. Sealed! Disadvantages: • Lid is very fragile. You must be careful not to push the latch cover too far or the hinge will break. I was careful, but in the end it didn't matter. Both lids broke after about 2 months.
