We purchased this scale to weigh crates of fruit that we sell at our local farmers market. I wanted something simple but not worth the arm and leg. I love the fact that you can fairly easily adjust this scale to account for the weight of a box or container. A disadvantage is that the flat plate is quite small. So if you have a large box, it can easily tip over if you don't center it properly. A large box also makes it difficult to read the scale. In general, the scale is suitable for our needs.
