I genuinely love these curtains. I got mine in black and they keep out so much light. I bought a curtain rod from Target that curves in so the curtains are as close to sealed around the edges add they can get without taping them down. If you're getting black out curtains for the "blackout" purpose( not sound or high/ low temperatures) then I'd suggest investing in a blackout curtain rod as well. Normal ones just let in too much light for me.But back to the curtains themselves, the material is fantastic. Only if you get up close to look will you see any specs of light shine through( keep in mind I got the darkest color). I find myself sleeping in later due to my eyes not believing it's actually later, since my room is so dark even at the sun's highest point.I can't say if they're durable in the wash since I haven't yet had to wash them. There were no loose threads on arrival, no bad stitching that my eyes could find. I'm so very happy with this purchase. I would highly recommend these curtains to anyone who needs to block out light, be it for a child's room, or for someone who works nights and needs to sleep through the day. Love the choice of full length or short length. I got the shortest length since my window is behind a shorter dresser with a TV in front of it and I'd get frustrated with all that material.
