Review on πŸ”§ Enhanced Motorcraft YH-1769 A/C Heater Blend Door Lever - Improved SEO by Brad Atl

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Repaired my 2006 F150 Lariat 5.4 truck, it only had cold air with no heater

As stated in other reviews there are a few other units and this one did not fit my truck. The cog on my old factory part was about an inch longer than the one I received so the cog didn't reach the box. This was the only difference between the two parts. I disassembled my non-working assembly, inspected the shaft and gear for wear. Then I very carefully disassembled the old and new part of the drive, fitted a longer shaft/gearbox and reassembled the assembly. The transmission is now lowered and enters the heater receiver box on the truck. My next problem was that the screw holes were a bit off and misaligned. I tried taking a long screwdriver and sticking my hand in the hole where the gear is supposed to turn the pickup gears so the part can be aligned and the drivetrain seated properly. After a few failed attempts, it's time to try something else. I screwed in one of the screws (easiest behind the radio) and installed the activator to the air conditioning/heater box and held it in place with one hand and an installed screw. I started the truck with the other hand and turned on the heater, then slowly lowered the temp setting and as I got closer to full AC setting I could feel the holes and case move just a hair's breadth, which is what holes for the remaining 2 screws allowed. align properly. Machine powered off and installation complete. This is a very tedious repair that takes time and patience because if you remove and install 3 screws it will take about 6-8 mini turns to get the screw all the way in so just stick with it. That. It may be better to order all 3 drives to get the right drive to complete the job! Replacing the main mechanism allowed me to finish the job and not drive another week with a radio and rush somewhere while waiting for another part to arrive. Nice to have warmth in my truck again after 2 years without heating. It's scary to imagine how much a trader would charge for this job. At the moment I am very happy to have warmth again. I will update this review over time.
