So here's a completely honest review from parents of FOUR children, ages 2 to 10, who have never brushed their teeth long enough. And yes I feel like it deserves a long review lol. We have enough fights to fight and stand over every kid to make sure everyone is brushing their teeth and washing their hands long enough it just shouldn't be happening. (let's face it, by the time it's time to brush our teeth we're both tired) SO. If you can wear your baby pants long enough to endure ice cream truck style music for 2-4 minutes (depending on how many kids you're cleaning at once), it's worth it. Also, I applaud ice cream truck music if that means they dance while brushing their teeth instead of putting sweet treats in their mouths lol. PLUS the ice cream truck is WAAAAAA louder and this thing has sound settings! CURRENTLY. As any seasoned parent would know right after opening the box, we knew right away that this thing WILL NOT stay on the wall, it WILL be fought over and the rear battery WILL be disconnected and lost and that's it. *** A simple fix that we highly recommend and a simple fix if you can drill! My hubs are smart and he came up with the idea of permanently drilling the mount into the wall. Then, after examining it carefully, he found a safe spot (on the back half of the timer that contains nothing but batteries) to drill a pilot hole in the very case that the timer sits in. Finally he drilled a short screw, maybe 1/2 inch long, through the case and into the pilot hole of the timer. *SEE PHOTO BELOW* It works like a dream. Have us already 2-3 months. Yes, the music is a bit annoying at first (we've gotten used to it by now), and yes, there's Christmas music playing, but come on. Choose your battles. At least it's not a shark song, over and over and over and over (sorry), just think of it as a sound announcing bedtime! It's safe, easy, very convenient for kids, makes combing and washing a little more fun for them and less tedious for us. We'd love to take a few minutes of ice cream truck tunes for clean teeth and hands. Yes we are still responsible for making sure they get everything right and still doing the actual cleaning/laundry but hey you can't get your cake and eat it. we are still parents. All in all, this is a big win for us. So I hope this helps you make a decision. Happy parenting!
