I have about a few hundred hooks that I have purchased from many vendors over the years. After getting them and reading a few different reviews, I measured the metal diameter of the few I have. There are two main types; about 0.15 inch (like this one) and about 0.20 inch. I have a lot of both. However, they have the worst design I have ever seen. The angle on the U-shaped portion of the assembly that rests against the back of the railing holes is so small that the slightest bump or bang will send the hook and its contents onto your bench or table. They are not usable in the form in which I received them. I was just sorting things and needed hooks. I didn't want to stop shipping and shopping again. I started clamping them in a vise and tapping the corner lightly. Some also require you to bend the other part of the assembly that rests against the front of the pad and becomes the hanger pin. Where it rests against the perforated plate, it does not stand upright and leans to one side. I'm 3 out of 4 so far because I didn't break the basting seam. So, all in all, if you don't feel like fixing 50 cheaply made swivel hooks is exactly the fun you're looking for, look elsewhere.
