Purchased to replace the handle on an old bolt gun, they are very tough. I had to anneal one with a torch to soften it enough to be able to drill and cut threads with it, and even then it was slow. Maybe, but not without work. I can't tell how they work in a camp. I can say they are round, nice, very hard and obviously carbon steel because they take the bluing solution well.
