I have dry Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) that causes the loss of my central vision in both eyes. As of November 2020, my vision has significantly worsened - I have progressed from needing a dozen of low-power magnifying glasses to needing higher power, lighted magnifiers from the local Society for the Blind. These glasses worked reasonably well (one small magnifier that I can use to see small objects and a larger one that rested on the paper that I slide on the page to read). However what I really needed was a larger magnifying glass that was lighted (uniformly across the field of vision), a larger field of view to capture a major portion of a sentence, and a larger magnification that I could see the text well enough to guess the context of the sentence.I tried several magnifying glasses on Walmart and liked them well enough to not return them. Then I found the ManiPro Magnifying Glass at Walmart and purchased it on Feb 2, 2021. I have been using it for a month and I really like it. I still use my whole group of magnifiers, depending on what I am trying to see, but my magnifier of choice is always the ManiPro Magnifying Glass. I liked it well enough to consider reordering it. I have found all its claims are correct. Plus one set of batteries lasted me 5 weeks, which I think is great.
