Love the retro style of this blender. It's heavier and bigger than I expected, but if you want performance it usually means bigger/heavier. The rubberized handle fits comfortably in the hand. The silver on the front is actually metal, not painted plastic. It comes with a set of whisks, dough hooks and a whisk. Whisks are not interchangeable and must be properly oriented, but most blenders have this feature. The buttons are simple - eject, power, plus and minus to increase or decrease speed. If you press the plus button while the agitators are already running, you'll get a turbo boost while holding it. The first speed is good for adding ingredients, the second speed is fast as hell, and the third speed is so fast it can suck you into another dimension. There really should be a speed or two more between second and third. But it will fly through batter, or pretty much anything you put in front of it. I'm curious how he will whip the cream. Most hand mixers take forever and I give up and pull out a stand mixer to take over, but this one was able to do the job quickly. As mentioned, the buttons are poorly placed and I kept pressing them when I didn't want to. Also, the cable is incredibly stiff and always seems to get in the way. I may need to hang a hanger on one of the upstairs cabinets to keep the cord out of the bowl. The current price of less than $15 is an incredibly good deal for a mixer with this kind of performance, so I'm willing to sidestep its eccentricities.
