This Tamron 2.8 was my trade-in for the Nikkor 18-105. Overall, this lens gives off excellent, sharp images at 2.8. The image is neat and appealing. I particularly like Ka Razor's studio photography, especially at aperture 5.6. I won't talk about the hares because XA claims I never kept an eye out for them and I didn't catch any. The focus prowls in the dark for reporting, slowly. In summary, the lens is excellent for the price. It makes me think of the Nikkor 24-85 (2.8-4) lens. The tight zoom ring compared to Nikkor is the sole drawback in my opinion. The lens recouped its cost in three months.
