The right combination of simplicity and functionality for working from home. USB Hub Extension

Works great with the right combination of simplicity and functionality at an affordable price. Bought to simplify setup for working from home to share mouse and keyboard. I specifically chose this one because it doesn't require an external power supply like some others. Switching is easy with a minimal blue LED indicator. It seems to have an automatic switch when it detects a connection to a new device and I've had no trouble getting it to work. The only thing I can think of for this product is the location of the USB ports. I would have preferred all ports to be on the same side for better cable management and table placement for button access. Most of the other options I found were overpriced/had more PC ports than I needed, had an unattractive shape, or required an external power supply. (hence an additional independent connector). I have only used this device with a mouse and keyboard. I can't judge how it works with other devices. I've noticed that if your mouse/keyboard is compatible with keymapping software and has the ability to store an onboard map, you may need to disconnect and reconnect the device if you move to a computer that doesn't have the software installed (like your work computer) before it registers and runs the embedded map. Although there is only one USB device port, this can easily be expanded using any USB hub. Of course, if you had to buy a USB hub to make your setup work, there would be additional costs. I only used the ones I had on hand.
