This replaces the cheap pin vise that seemed to work. I guess I had to go cheap and fail before I could justify buying the Starrett. I wish I had done this many years ago! Fit and finish are excellent. The rotation of the ring when tightening around the collet is smooth. The jaws of the collet converge at the dead center, which ensures correct movement of the drill. The knurling is deep and provides enough "traction" even if my hands are a bit oily. The octagonal handle prevents it from rolling off the countertop while still allowing it to rotate freely between my fingers. The only reason I would need to replace it is if I lose it. That lasts a lifetime. That "feels right". This is significant enough to have weight to feed the drill without having to put much pressure on the drill. It looks like a quality tool and is small enough to be nimble and get the job done. Always willing to support a company that still manufactures in the USA. (Keep your money this side of the ocean!) Having FUN always makes a project funnier. :-D The sooner you get it, the sooner you can enjoy it.
