Description of πŸ“ Starrett Dial Indicator 25 441J Graduation: Accurate Measurement for Precision Engineering

NoN-ROLLING OCTAGON SHAPE: The Starrett 166A Pin Vise has an Octagon-shaped handle that prevents the tool from rolling when it’s set down. HOLDS UP TO 1 MM: This model pin vise securely holds workpieces up to 0.040" (1mm) in diameter, including small stock, taps, drills, reamers, scribers, wire, small files, and other tools. SHOCK PROTECTION: This pin vise features an insulated PVC handle, which protects the user from electric shocks. SMALLER BODY FOR FASTER WORK: The body diameter is narrower than the chuck to enable fast opening and closing of the chuck and faster rotation when working on small workpieces. TAPERED COLLET: Its tapered collet provides maximum clamping surface. Measurements are 1-25/32" handle length and 3" overall length with chuck closed.

Precision Micro Drill Holder

I had to drill some tiny holes for the miniature baskets my wife makes. I bought a set of micro drills, but the three-jaw vise that came with it was cheap and couldn't hold the drills straight. This made drilling holes by hand almost impossible. Living up to the Starrett name, this Starrett Vise is a precision micro drill holder. They hold securely and align perfectly along the handle axis, making hand drilling easy. Even though Starrett instruments are more expensive, their quality has never…

The last bodkin I'll ever have to buy.

Media could not be loaded. I'm very picky about which bodkin I like to use. I went as far as drilling holes in the ends of the chopsticks to hold a blowgun dart. This Starrett Vise is perfect for holding a blowgun dart bar. I always have a very sharp rod that is easy to hold and very easy to use when fly fishing. It's made of steel, so it's easily accessible with a magnet next to my vise. I can also change the length of the bandage if I need to heat the end of the bandage with a spirit lamp.

Upgrade to Starrett Quality

This replaces the cheap pin vise that seemed to work. I guess I had to go cheap and fail before I could justify buying the Starrett. I wish I had done this many years ago! Fit and finish are excellent. The rotation of the ring when tightening around the collet is smooth. The jaws of the collet converge at the dead center, which ensures correct movement of the drill. The knurling is deep and provides enough "traction" even if my hands are a bit oily. The octagonal handle prevents it from rolling
