Review on Protorq 61-Piece High Quality S2 Steel Security Bit Set, Temper Proof Bits For Home Electronics, Vehicles, Military & Aerospace Applications by Dean Wilson

Great initial impression

I haven't used these extensively or put them under real stress. Of course I have not had the opportunity to try every one (likely never will). This is a "just in case" set. But the initial impression is very good! Even the case is unusually solid. They look well made, and the couple I've used are sized appropriately. The set seems very complete in types and typical sizes. The security holes are impressively spot on center, even with the tiny ones. Will the narrow walls of every bit hold up in real life conditions, especially small sizes? Time will tell. But so far I find no reason not to recommend them. I like that the company displays their relevant licenses. Looks like some companies will make them slightly off to avoid license issues, and that's why you get poor fitting bits with cheaper brands.Perhaps one con is that the sizes aren't marked on the case. But in reality - I usually don't know exactly what size I need and try a couple anyway, so this isn't a big deal to me. Also they can be a little difficult to remove since they are pretty cramped in there, but that is the cost for being a compact set. For only occasional use it's an OK trade off to me.

Pros
  • Perfect for all tasks that require a tamper proof torque screw.Love it.
Cons
  • The case may not be durable enough for some users
