good concept, good price, but mine didn't lock fully

There are good reviews, some bad so maybe I got a bad one, mine already closes at all not especially when i try on the smaller clamps so i have to hold on to the pliers while removing the clamp with my other hand, after this first try i decide to return it and just buy a more expensive one and see if it does fits. Maybe they just have poor quality control, some good, some bad.
