Here's what it looks like

Thin brass pieces that can be used to splice regular wire and then solder. I have a hard time finding good enough crimp connectors that won't oxidize, lose, etc without solder, so I always rely on soldering with a crimp myself. That means never relying on plastic and cutting it off when needed, then shrinking the end result with adhesive-backed heat shrink tubing.
