Review on Joovy 8094 Balloon Stroller Yellow by Erin Johnston

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Thanks to Joovy for the new wheel design! Finally!

This is the third time I've tried this little stroller and apparently the third time has been adorable with the new wheels! I wanted the other 2 to work so hard because one stroller has everything I need that other strollers don't have; It's lightweight, reversible, with an abdominal support, reclining, and comfortable. I had to bring back the previous two versions after trying them in less than a day because push was so impossible. I have a Bugaboo D and M&P armadillo and yet I continue to use this one for its convenience. My daughter is 11 months old, tall, about 25 pounds and I wanted to be able to lift the stroller without taking the baby out, especially in the winter. Pros: The canopy is quite large and offers very good protection from the sun. It's thin and definitely not waterproof, but it goes really well with my rain cover from another stroller. The seat is soft and comfortable and I can easily use the Bugaboo Winter Muff. The reversible handle is so good because it allows me to switch without moving the seat or waking up the baby. Push is MUCH better with the new wheels. rules actually. I wish all 4 wheels swiveled, but they push well enough that I can turn in shops, which I couldn't do before. (Make sure you have NEW WHEELS. It has 5 bars instead of one bar that goes across.) The fold is comfortable and stands up on its own. It can be up or down and is controlled by a strap rather than a click mechanism that lets you choose the angle. Cons: When facing parents I keep kicking the leg bar which could be fixed if the handle was a bit longer BUT I'm very picky and I like very tall handlebars as I'm tall but I don't see it it as a big problem and I'm used to not kicking it. The seat reclines well enough, but I wish it could sit more. The wheels might not be able to handle my heavy daily NYC ride full of cracks and holes, but we'll see how long they last. Items such as diaper bags are difficult to attach because of the stool. (I snap off one side of the basket to put it in place, then snap it back in place.) The cup holder rotates too easily, I strongly recommend only using jars with secure lids. (He tells you not to use hot drinks, just use securely closed jars with a lock.) To be honest, the downsides aren't even that bad that I don't like this stroller. I love mine, I like how comfortable it is and most importantly, my kid likes it :) PS. Joovy makes the seat straighter and I'm happy to buy a new one :)

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Not the best
