but this product works as advertised and that's it. I had to do a little more homework before I bought it. I gave it 5 stars because it definitely works very well, it just enlarges way more than I expected or needed. I do models and as I get older I just need a little help. Small parts and moving small parts in the tightest of spaces and small print on instructions for use are a thing of the past. this magnifier works great. It's so cool that a small part of the model in the jaws of the tweezers fills the viewing radius and makes it gigantic. I am now reading the instructions one giant word at a time. paint defect? Now there are no questions, I see everything under the glass, so everything works fine. The unit looks good, the springs holding the arm segments in place are perfectly tensioned, and the loupe always stays where I want it. The 3 position light (cold to bright) works very well. At first I didn't see where I might need this feature, but I often switch from bright to cool. The only negative I have is that I wish it was stronger. Some stress points are a little thin. I see someone hitting it and damaging it. It's hard to explain I guess, I mean it's not industrial gear. I had one in my cart that cost ten bucks more but at the last minute I changed my mind about saving a few bucks assuming they all do the same thing. Now I know where they cut costs, if this is used very heavily every day this is not what you want. so yes, 5 stars. He does everything they say.
