Purchased to mount the iPad on a tripod. My iPad is in a LifeProof case and the grips fit easily and securely over the edges of the case. A screw mechanism on the back of the mount ensures that the tabs on the mount hold the iPad securely. On my iPad Air2, the mount holds the iPad in landscape mode but not in portrait mode. I can take a portrait by tilting the tripod. The mount is lightweight and the plastic definitely wobbles/flexes a bit after mounting it on a tripod. If you're looking for a really secure mount then this probably isn't for you, but if you want something light and cheap then this is fine.
