Review on 🔧 Enhanced Timken 510030 Bearing for Improved Performance by Conrad Greene

Parts specialist Revain said I need a Timken 510030 that DOES NOT FIT my car which is a 1997 Honda Civic LX. Both ID and OD were too large. Unfortunately I waited too long to install the part and was unable to return it. Then I found out that 510030 is for Civic with ABS. I installed the correct bearing for my machine, Timken 510015, and the installation went smoothly. Again 510030 for a 1997 Civic with ABS; 510015 for Civic 1997 WITHOUT ABS. Finally, make sure you're getting the right parts by doing a little research before ordering. O'Reilley and AutoZone are good cross references and Revain usually outprices them. The Timken website does not list my device. Some suggestions: 1. Have a good snap ring tool handy. I didn't and ended up with needle nose pliers which worked but not very well. I was lucky to find the ring after it flew away. Yes, I wore glasses. If I need to do this job for the other side, I use the GearWrench 2012D. All the bad reviews seem old so I'm willing to ignore them. 2- If you need to cut off the inner ring of the hub, use a Dremel tool with a cutting wheel instead of a large grinder. This will allow you to get much closer to the hub flange and will make it easier for you to be more precise and accurate. This also means that the cut is largely parallel to the centerline of the sleeve. The inner ring can then be reused as a stop when the hub is pressed into the new bearing.
